I got my teaching registration last week!
I finally got all my paperwork together in August and submitted it in mid-September, they were the first Irish institution to get back to me earlier than their timeframe of 3 months - albeit by about a week.
For a country that loves things being official, it is just a piece of paper that says certificate of registration, rather than the pretty card you get in New Zealand, but I have my teaching registration.
Apparently I've got to brush up on:
Philosophy of Education
Sociology of Education
History of Education
and obviously Irish language.
I've yet to understand what any of these things mean, but however, now I can start really looking at getting another day or two of work, which will pad out the pay packet quite nicely.
But first, I've a book to finish.
